Trivia Crack

Trivia Crack is an app that is available for both systems that operate on iOS as well as Android devices. It is an app that you compete with people on. You first download the app, and you can connect it with your Facebook, your Twitter, or both. You then compete with people. The game is basically a bunch of quizzes. You compete with people, and you take turns answering questions. The different types of questions are geography, science, history, sports, art, and entertainment. When it is your turn you spin the wheel, landing on any of those spots or a crown, all which have an equal probability of being chosen. As of now, just ignore the crown spot, as I will be coming back to that later. For whichever spot the spinner lands on, you answer a question about that. If you get the question over that topic correct, then you get to spin again and keep going. However, if you get the question wrong, then your turn is over and it is the other person’s turn.
When answering questions, there are a few powerups that you have at your disposal that can help you. The powerups are as follows: extra time, bomb, double chance, and skip. The extra time gives you extra time to answer the question, as you only get twenty seconds to answer the question. The bomb powerup removes two of the incorrect answers, leaving you with only two options left. The double chance powerup lets you guess two options instead of just one. The skip powerup lets you skip that question, giving you a new question of the same topic. Once you use a powerup, you cannot use another powerup. You have to buy powerups, though. You buy them with coins that you earn by answering questions correctly. You can get the extra time powerup with four coins, the bomb powerup with six coins, the double chance powerup with three coins, and the skip powerup you can get with five coins.
You need to get three questions right to attempt for a crown. There are six crowns, each one representing each of the six question topics. These do not need to get all three in a row in one turn; you just need to have gotten three questions right. However, you can also spin and get the spinner to land on the crown option instead. Both of these two lead to the same outcome: you choosing which crown to attempt for. Whichever crown you attempt to get, you will need to answer a question of that topic to gain that crown. If you answer the question correctly then you gain the crown. However, if you do not answer the question correctly, then your turn is over, and your number of questions correct resets, so you need to get another three correct to attempt for a crown, or spin the crown itself. The winner of the game is whoever gets all six crowns first.
You do not always need to attempt for a crown. You can also challenge your opponent. In order to challenge your opponent, you both need to have at least one crown. By challenging your opponent you both answer six questions, one for each topic. You answer all six questions first. After that, your opponent answers the same six questions. Whoever answers the most questions wins the challenge. They will gain their opponents crown that was selected then. Your opponent will also loose the crown that you gain. That all, however, occurs only if you win.
Trivia Crack is a fun and entertaining app that many people play. You can play friends from social media, or you can play random people. It is a great way to pass the time, and by doing so you also learn information from the various questions that you answer.

Dave Grohl

Dave Grohl is a very talented musician and he has been a part of many bands. Many people, including myself, find his music very entertaining, and enjoy his music. Dave Grohl started his music career with Nirvana, as their drummer. That is where and how he started his music career and made a name for himself. Nirvana’s lead singer was Kurt Cobain, who at the age of around 27 committed suicide by shooting himself in his brain through his mouth. In the autopsy of his body there was a lot of drugs, indicating a drug overdose. However, the amount of drugs in his system was enough meth for multiple men to overdose, making people wonder. However, Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl were two members of the band Nirvana. Some of the more well known Nirvana songs are Smells Like Teen Spirit, The Man Who Sold the World, Come as You Are, Heart-Shaped Box, Lithium, About a Girl, All Apologies, Waif Me, In Bloom, Where Did you Sleep Last Night, Something in the Way, Sappy, Dumb, You Know You’re Right, Lake of Fire, On a Plain, Pennyroyal Tea, Territorial Pissings, Serve the Servants, Drain You, Silver, Polly, Lounge Act, Aneurysm, Endless Nameless, Breed, Plateau, and Rape Me. Through his time in Nirvana Dave Grohl was able to make a name for himself.

After Kurt Cobain’s suicide, the band of Nirvana was dissolved. However, Dave Grohl wanted to stay in the music industry, so he formed another band, the Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters are also very popular. They are known for some their more well known songs. Some of their many songs are Everlong, Learn to Fly, The Pretender, Best of You, Times Like These, Something from Nothing, Walk, Big Me, All my Life, Congregation, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, DOA, These Days, Wheels, Long Road to Ruin, Subterranean, This is a Call, Arlandria, Dear Rosemary, Breakout, White Limo, Rope, Walking After You, Stranger Things Have Happened, I’ll Stick Around, In the Clear, I am a River, The Feast and the Famine, Stacked Actors, I should have Known, Let it Die, Come Alive, What Did I Do/God As My Witness, and Skin and Bones. The Foo Fighters, along with Dave Grohl, are still around today, continuing to make albums and songs and tour across the country and in other areas. They just recently came out with a new album, titled Saint Cecilia.

This last year, on tour, Dave Grohl broke his leg. However, he kept up with the tours that had already been planned, changed the name of the tour to the Break a Leg Tour, and got himself a throne made from which he could perform onstage from.

The Violent Femmes

One way to entertain oneself is by listening to music. There are many, many, many different types of music, as well as many different bands and artists. There are many different songs out there as well. Today, I will be talking about one band in particular. This band is an alternative band, and they have been to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, relatively recently. By relatively recently I mean that they performed here in Cedar Rapids over this past summer, over the summer of two thousand and fifteen if I remember correctly. This band that I am talking about uses an acoustic guitar in many songs, and they are a little weird with their songs I guess. It take an acquired taste to appreciate their songs. Two of their more famous songs are the songs “Add It Up”, as well as the song “Blister in the Sun” being two of their more popular songs that many people know of. This band is called the Violent Femmes.

Star Wars

As many people know, the new Star Wars movie, Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, is premiering this week. On Thursday night it will be premiering. It is the seventh entry in the film series, as a main film, with many other small spin off movies or tv shows as well. The first movies to come out were the original trilogy, which consists of the Episodes four, five and six, which were A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, respectively. The very first movie to be made, A New Hope, was originally called Star Wars, and at first the entire sage, much less the original trilogy, was not even planned out. It depicts Luke Skywalker becoming a Jedi and destroying the Death Star, along with Han Solo, Chewbaca, C3PO, and R2-D2. The next film, The Empire Strikes Back, continues on it. Darth Vader is still alive, so Luke, Han, and the rest of them have to battle them again. In The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda is introduced, the Force is explained, Han is tortured and made into an art piece, and Darth Vader reveals that he is really Luke's father. Then, in Return of the Jedi, this original trilogy comes to an end. Luke goes in and saves Han Solo, Bobba Fett dies, Yoda dies, and the final battle comes to an end. The Death Star needs to be destroyed, and the Dark Sith needs to be taken down. Luke goes into a head on against Darth Vader and the Dark Sith, almost going to the dark side of the force, but staying back and restraining. Darth Vader kills the Dark Sith before he is able to kill Luke, Darth Vader's son, and then Darth Vader ultimately dies as well. Luke escapes from the Death Star just in time before it blows up. At the end of the movie, the Dark Side of the Force was defeated.

Then, the prequel trilogy was released. It consists of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, and Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. In Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, we are introduced to Anakin Skywalker, and that he is the chosen one. He gets to be trained by Obi-Wan, who becomes a Jedi in the movie. Then, in Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, the two are Jedis together, and it depicts the lead up to the Clone Wars, a tv show and mini movie that is not part of the main franchise. In Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is taken to the Dark Side by Chancellor Palpatine, who is the Dark Sith. A majority of all of the Jedi are brutally murdered, and Obi Wan defeats Anakin, who then becomes Dark Vader, finally setting up the original trilogy.

All in all, the worst movie was, by far, Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, because it offered virtually nothing good to the franchise, and Jar Jar Binks was in it. Then, Episode 2: Attack of the Clones was the next worse, and then Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. The original trilogy is far better than the prequel trilogy, in almost every aspect, with possibly a few exceptions here and there. In the original trilogy, all three are better than any of the prequel movies, as previously stated. After the prequel trilogy, I think that A New Hope goes next. I think that it is a great movie, setting up everything else in the next two movies, but the other two are just a bit better I think. I think that next is the Return of the Jedi, as it wraps everything up, the final good against evil, Dark Sith is defeated, and Darth Vader is done for. The best film, in my opinion, is the Empire Strikes Back, as it introduces Yoda, it explains the force, it is the darkest film in the original trilogy, it has Han Solo become a piece of art, making you unsure if he will be back, and, above all, Darth Vader reveals that he is Luke Skywalker's father. All in all, the Star Wars franchise is an amazing franchise.

The Office

The Office is a show that has received a lot of acclaim. The first season sort of starts off slow. It kind of drags on, like this blog is going to do. Then the second season it starts to pick up, and it starts a going. Speaking of a going, that reminds me of the song Rock of Ages by Deaf Leopard, which contains the lyrics keep a going, keep a going. Anyways, back to the topic of this blog. The Office. Well, it stars Steve Carrel as Michael Scott, the head manager of the branch of Dundler Mifflin, located in Scranton, Pennslyvania. It is fictional. Some other main characters are Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson; Jim Halpert played by John Krasinski; Pam Beesly played by Jenna Fischer; Ryan Howard played by B. J. Novak; and Andy Bernard, played by Ed Helms. Some other prominent characters are Angela Martin played by Angela Kinsey, Kelly Kapoor played by Mindy Kaling, Oscar Martinez played by Oscar Nunez, Darryl Philbin played by Craig Robinson, Erin Hannon played by Ellie Kemper, Toby Flenderson played by Paul Lieberstein, Kevin Malone played by Brian Baumgartner, Phyllis Lapin played by Phyllis Smith, Stanley Hudson played by Leslie David Baker, Meredith Palmer played by Kate Flannery, Creed Bratton played by himself, Creed Bratton, Roy Anderson played by David Denman, Holly Flax played by Amy Ryan, Jan Levinson played by Melora Hardin, and David Wallace played by Andy Buckley.
The show focuses on the Scranton branch and what goes on there. Michael is the regional manager, and he is a goof off and a “moron”, who is basically an idiot who does not deserve the job he has. However, he does somehow manage to perform well in his position. Dwight is a little out there, and he is almost crazy. He is also a farmer and he is just plain out weird. Jim, like Dwight, is a salesman. He pulls pranks on Dwight and it is very comical. He gets promoted to co manager of the Scranton Branch at some point as well. He is in love with Pam. Pam is the receptionist, and then later a sales woman. She falls in love with Jim as well. Ryan is originally a temp, then becomes very high up in the company, only to commit fraud, get fired, and then become re hired and become another salesman, only to get fired again. He continually has a love interest in Kelly. Andy gets moved over to the Scranton branch as a salesman too, and he originally has anger management and then he becomes friends with Dwight and he is an interesting character.
This is just a very brief overview of the show, The Office.

Christmas Music

Christmas time is here now, yet again. And that means one thing for some people, and that is Christmas music. Christmas music. Some people play Christmas music way too much. Sure, it is very entertaining to them. But think about other people. Do you think they always want to hear Christmas music everywhere they go? Probably not everyone. Actually, let me rephrase that. Definitely not everyone. There are too many people that are obsessed with Christmas music. Sure, it is good and okay to listen to it for a little bit during the Christmas season. But Christmas season starts in December. Not in November. Not before Thanksgiving. Not in October. But in December. DECEMBER. Not any earlier than December. From December first through the last day in December, which I believe is December thirtieth, or maybe December thirty-first, wait yes it is definitely December thirty-first, well that is the only available time to play Christmas music. If you play it then then it will be good to listen to. Otherwise, you should listen to your Christmas music alone, or only with people that you know want to listen to Christmas music as well. Otherwise, Christmas music can be very good, just when being listened to under the right and correct circumstances during the holiday season.

Christmas Trees

Christmas time is here, like it is every year, so this blog is about Christmas. More specifically this blog is about Christmas trees. Now a days, some families have fake Christmas trees. Their Christmas trees are fake, usually plastic, and they last a few years, making it very easy to assemble during the holidays as well as allowing you to not have to worry about the hassle of finding, then cutting down and getting a Christmas tree for the holidays every single year. However, a lot of people do not like fake Christmas trees. That is because the fake Christmas trees are not as joyful and not as much in the holiday spirit as real Christmas trees. Real Christmas trees are much more joyful and merry and in the holiday spirit. Families can go out and find a tree that they want out on a tree farm, and then cut it down and bring it to their house. Then, they have to put it in a stand in their house, usually in their living room. Once the tree is set up, it will need to be watered. Also, you may want to clean up any mess that may have been made while bringing the tree in and setting it up. After it is set up, you will want to decorate the Christmas tree. The tree is decorated with Christmas ornaments and lights. The lights go on first all around the tree, wrapped around the tree multiple times. Then there is a tree topper on top of the tree. Tree toppers are usually either a star or an angel. Then, you can decorate the tree with the Christmas ornaments and you can make it seem all Christmasy and in the holiday spirit. Have fun decorating your Christmas tree this holiday season!

High School Jobs

A lot of people work. A lot of people. There are so many jobs out there that people can have, but today I am only going to write about the types of jobs that high schoolers generally have, instead of those that are people’s careers, or an adult job that someone can live off of doing that job. High schoolers will almost always work part time, never full time, with a few exceptions every now and then. There are many different high schoolers, and each high schooler is different, so there are a multitude of jobs out there to accompany most high schoolers. Here are a few of the more popular and more talked about jobs that high schoolers will usually have.

Some high schoolers are lifeguards. Most lifeguards will have only a seasonal job for during the summer when school is not in session, but some lifeguards will work year round at an indoor pool. A lot of swimmers will end up lifeguarding during high school, and a lot of lifeguards tend to be swimmers, but not all of them. There are still a lot of lifeguards who do not swim, as well as a lot of swimmers that do not lifeguard. But, as a stereotype, lifeguarding is a popular job among swimmers. One of the very popular traits of the job for people is that it is a seasonal job, only during the summer, when school is not in session. This makes working a lot easier, as there is not really much else going on at that time, increasing people’s availability as well as the amount of money they will then make probably.

Another popular job among high schoolers is to work at a nearby, small business. In Cedar Rapids, an example of this is Parlor City. Parlor City is an ice cream stand that is located very close to Kennedy High School, and a lot of Kennedy High Schoolers will end up working there because of the convenience, as well as it being a good job.

Yet another job that is popular among high schoolers is working at a trampoline park. In Cedar Rapids, there are two trampoline parks. The first one to open was AirFX, and the second one to open was SkyZone. They are both similar in size of the area of trampolines available for the customers to jump on. Both places offer popular jobs for high schoolers as it is easy for a high schooler to oversee the trampoline mats and watch the jumpers. A lot of people have moved over from AirFX to SkyZone when SkyZone opened up, and working at either of those two trampoline parks is a good first job as it is not too intense a job, and it is just a overall good first job for high schoolers.

Yet another job that is popular among high schoolers is to work at a restaurant. One example of a restaurant that some high schoolers work at is Market Grille at Hy-Vee. There you will either be a bus boy, busing the tables and cleaning up after customers, or you would be a waiter or a server, serving and or waiting on the customers and taking their orders. This is a popular job among high schoolers as it is easy enough to get it as a first job, and it provides good job experience.

Another popular job among high schoolers is working at either a grocery store, like Hy-Vee, or a general or convenience store, such as Walmart or Target. These jobs provide good work experience, especially with working with some people that may not be the most pleasant to deal with, resulting in better people skills. Also, the job is fairly easy, with not much required for you to do. All in all, it provides a good job for high schoolers.

There are a lot of good jobs available for high schoolers. There is the option of becoming a lifeguard, working at a nearby small business, working at a trampoline park, at a restaurant, or at a store. There are so many jobs out there for high schoolers to choose from!
